Software Development Engineer II – App Architecture

Android Engineer

• Drive end-to-end product design, from initial user research and exploration to final pixel-perfect delivery in close collaboration with product managers, engineers, researchers, and senior design leadership.
• Take a senior role in designing QuillBot’s next-generation writing applications for iOS and Android, helping shape its core capabilities, look and feel, and how users interact with writing in an AI-enhanced environment.
• Partner with other designers to ensure the mobile applications integrate seamlessly with all our product surfaces, creating a unified, consistent, and delightful user experience across the product suite.
• Contribute to and evolve our design language system, balancing reuse of patterns with the thoughtful creation of new, scalable components suitable for the given surface.
• Advocate for user experience by deeply understanding user needs, behaviors, and the broader goals they’re trying to achieve, not just isolated feature usage.
• Craft experiences that bring originality, joy, and elegance to complex interactions, using motion, micro-interactions, visual storytelling, and a deep and profound knowledge of the individual operating system's capabilities and limitations.

Senior Product Designer, iOS/Android

• Architect for Growth: design and evolve scalable systems that power QuillBot’s growth surfaces, from first-touch experiences and onboarding flows to monetization and lifecycle retention platforms.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: collaborate with Product, Design, AI, and Marketing teams to translate growth hypotheses into measurable, high-impact user experiences.
• Monetization & Payments Platform: architect global payment infrastructure and pricing systems that support subscriptions, credits, and marketplace integrations (Chargebee, Stripe, Razorpay, Adyen, EBANX, AWS Marketplace, etc.), enabling seamless and compliant global payments.
• AI-Driven User Journeys: partner with the AI Platform and Data teams to design contextual assistants, onboarding companions, and cross-sell systems that leverage AI Chat and user intent models.
• Retention & Lifecycle Systems: build event-driven systems for churn prediction, habit formation, and reactivation - integrating signals from product analytics, marketing, and customer success.

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack systems that power growth initiatives such as retention campaigns, monetization flows, cross-sell features, and internationalization
• Build and iterate on A/B experiments and growth experiments to optimize conversion, engagement, and retention
• Own end-to-end delivery of projects: from requirements gathering and design, through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring

• Research, improve, and provide feedback on content for Scribbr, QuillBot, and LanguageTool websites
• Analyze search results and search intent for relevant keywords using Ahrefs, Search Console, Amplitude, and Google Analytics and create content briefings
• Critically analyze current content and propose improvements, expansions, or rewrites
• Execute simple link building strategies to improve rankings
• Pitch new content ideas, suggest topics and new categories or topic groupings
• Assist Content Manager II in cross-team collaboration to address content needs
