Tech Recruiter, People Manager – Defense AI
21strategiesTech Recruiter and People Manager at a Deep-Tech company developing AI software for defense. Responsible for tech recruiting of candidates in AI, Data, and Software Engineering.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- You develop and manage our end-to-end recruiting process for predominantly technical roles, including identifying and proactively approaching suitable candidates, especially senior profiles in AI, Data, Software Engineering, Simulation and Defense Tech.
- You work closely with the executive team, the CTO and the relevant departments to create precise requirement profiles and job postings.
- You build structured screening and interview processes, manage talent pools, and ensure promising candidates are systematically maintained and re-engaged.
- You automate recurring steps across the entire recruiting workflow.
- You work with recruiting tools, job boards, automation tools and, where applicable, AI-based screening and matching approaches.
- You ensure a professional candidate experience: clarity, speed and reliability are more important than HR buzzwords.
- You support the establishment of fundamental people processes, such as onboarding, contract processes, role profiles, goal setting, development reviews and retention measures.
- You ensure that recruiting and people operations fit a safety-critical, technology-driven company — including considerations such as availability, work authorization, location, trustworthiness and potential clearance requirements.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Several years of experience in tech recruiting, ideally in a software, AI, data, cyber, defense-tech or deep-tech environment
- Good understanding of technical roles in AI, machine learning, data engineering, software development, DevOps, simulation, embedded/edge or system architecture
- Experience recruiting senior and specialist-level professionals
- Strong process orientation with a commitment to running recruiting in a data-driven and structured way
- Experience with ATS systems, job boards, LinkedIn/Xing recruiting and active sourcing
- Experience with automation tools such as Power Automate, Zapier, Make, scripting, or AI-supported workflows
- Clear and reliable communication both internally and with candidates
- Good understanding of a security- and defense-oriented environment with particular requirements regarding reliability, discretion, loyalty, availability and legal/regulatory frameworks
