About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Establish, develop and take ownership of the QA strategy for the Defense Metaverse
Define and enforce quality standards for software, simulations and AI components
Plan, coordinate and execute functional, non-functional and system tests
Quality assurance of: simulation logic and scenarios
AI-based enemy and agent behavior
Distributed and networked systems
Develop and maintain test concepts, test plans and test cases
Introduce and apply automated testing methods where appropriate
Analyze defects, perform root-cause analyses and track issues through to resolution
Work closely with software development, AI teams, system architects and product owners
Ensure traceability, reproducibility and documentation of test results
Support acceptance testing, reviews and releases

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field
Alternatively: equivalent practical experience in complex software or simulation projects
Several years of professional experience in quality management or software QA, ideally in complex systems
Experience with testing methods for distributed systems, simulations or AI-based software
Understanding of AI systems, particularly non-deterministic behavior
Experience with test automation, test frameworks and QA tools
Confident working with Linux environments and modern development processes
Understanding of system architectures, interfaces and data flows
Excellent German and business-fluent English
Strong communication skills and interpersonal competence
Highly motivated to work reliably and independently in a remote setting and to proactively solve problems ("Auftragstaktik" — mission-type tactics)
Personal suitability for a security clearance (Ü2)
Experience with simulation, training or serious-game platforms is an advantage
Knowledge of agile development methodologies
Experience in safety-critical or governmental environments
Basic understanding of military or tactical scenarios
