User Researcher

• You'll be responsible for both people leadership and strategic research leadership.
• Leading research across Core Banking while helping shape a coherent Personal Banking research strategy that spans multiple product areas.
• Partnering closely with the Core Banking Leadership Team, Product Directors, Design leaders and senior stakeholders across Wealth, Payments, Borrowing and our European business.
• Helping define and land parts of Monzo's global research operating model as we expand internationally, ensuring teams work effectively across both global and local markets.
• Connecting customer insights across collectives, identifying themes, opportunities and gaps rather than viewing research through the lens of a single team.
• Bringing together existing research, product data, market insights and quantitative evidence to help leadership make informed strategic decisions.
• Managing managers and supporting approximately 6-8 direct and indirect reports while maintaining a consistently high bar for research quality.
• Creating an environment where researchers can balance methodological rigour with the speed needed to build great products.

Senior User Research Manager

• Provide profession leadership for the user research community, shaping direction and promoting consistent, high-quality practice across the organisation
• Maintain and continuously evolve standards for user research, ensuring approaches remain relevant, effective and aligned with organisational priorities
• Contribute to the delivery of the user-centred design leadership roadmap in collaboration with Centre of Excellence Leads, aligning activity to strategic outcomes
• Assess and prioritise emerging demand alongside Centre of Excellence Leads, ensuring resource is focused on areas of highest value and impact
• Advance user research practice, building on existing foundations to develop capability and maturity across the community
• Deliver impactful work that supports outcomes focused on helping consumers avoid financial harm and promoting fair, effective markets
• Enable products and services to better meet the needs of firms, consumers and internal users by embedding user-centred insights into design and delivery
• Engage with and support a collaborative community of practitioners, contributing to a positive culture that advances user-centred thinking and organisational effectiveness

Lead User Researcher

• Lead and deliver user research across the product lifecycle, using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods including interviews, surveys, usability testing, diary studies and ethnographic research.
• Generate actionable insights that influence product strategy, design decisions and participant engagement initiatives.
• Design and run usability studies that help us refine experiences before launch, reducing friction and improving outcomes for participants.
• Evaluate the impact of products and services post-launch, partnering with product analysts to understand what's working, what isn't, and why.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, Analysts and other user-centred design specialists to embed evidence-based decision making across teams.
• Facilitate workshops and insight-sharing sessions that bring colleagues closer to participant needs and experiences.
• Build and maintain a repository of user insights, ensuring research findings remain accessible and reusable.
• Support and coach colleagues in planning and conducting effective research activities.
• Champion inclusive and accessible research practices, ensuring diverse participant voices are represented throughout our work.
