QA Automation Engineer

• Reporting to the VP, Tech & Ops Systems Governance Leader, the AVP, Tech & Ops Control Automation Engineer plays a leading role in the automation of industry standard-based control activities that support Synchrony’s operations in the public cloud.
• Identify opportunities for control automation, collaborate with stakeholders on design improvements, and lead the technical build and implementation of these enhanced controls.
• Drive innovation through Tech and Ops with a focus on using automation to eliminate manual control work, collaborative problem solving, and proactive process enhancement.
• In collaboration with Synchrony cloud control framework owners, analyze existing control catalog to identify and prioritize candidates for optimization/automation.
• Engage with activity owners throughout Synchrony to define and document business and technical requirements for control enhancements/automation.
• Execute build and implementation of enhanced/automated controls, utilizing traditional software development lifecycle practices.
• Interact and collaborate with stakeholders and control owners throughout the organization to implement necessary changes and modifications to mitigate operational, regulatory, and financial risks.
• Identify control gaps and potential issues, discuss viable solutions with stakeholders to ensure controls are operating effectively.
• Leverage critical thinking skills to look beyond existing methodologies and current discipline to define and resolve complex problems.

AVP, Tech & Ops Control Automation Engineer

• Resolve designer's tool / methodology issues on the path to TapeOut
• Provide support for design ramp up through training / documentation
• Interact with EDA providers and ensure required tools features are available for the projects with high quality
• Closely partner with PDK/library experts, flow development teams, as well as with product design teams
• Collaborate with EC to provision adequate compute capacity and help debug any associated issues
• Create automation (scripts, checkers, etc.) for installation of design environment (PDKs, EDA tools, licenses, etc.) to simplify and accelerate design processes
• Support the integration of new tools and methods into existing design workflows, ensuring seamless adoption and scalability

Design Automation Engineer – TFM/EDA

• coordinates, manages, implements, and provides technical engineering support for a variety of process automation hardware, software applications, and laboratory instruments
• works and collaborates cross functionally with internal and external partners to enhance existing workflows and develop new automated workflows
• assists teams in the process of selecting automation, system design, integration, commissioning, and project documentation
• applies defined protocols and procedures; conducts moderate level testing activities and data analysis
• applies technical knowledge to develop company products and to recommend product enhancements
• able to troubleshoot anomalies
• conducts moderately complex engineering design, platform eligibility testing, systems integration, or performance testing
• trains others on the proper use of Exact Sciences equipment
• exercises independent judgment in obtaining solutions

• assists in preparing information for design documentation and design reviews
• contributes as team member to meet pre-defined goals

Process Development – Automation Engineer II

• Apply automation engineering knowledge and coordinate with other organizations to improve manufacturing operations
• Own all phases of project execution from concept development through deployment and adoption
• Provide technical guidance on development of complex automation architectures
• Conduct comprehensive safety risk assessments and implement layered safety controls
• Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple automation projects
• Lead cross functional teams to ensure effective deployment to live production
• Prioritize tasks to ensure that the team’s overall resources are used effectively and that deadlines are met
• Maintain current knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and incorporate into project proposals
• Provide expert level guidance for hands-on programming of automated control systems and robots as projects require
• Mentor engineers within the team or within operations on how to develop and maintain automated manufacturing systems
• Effectively communicates with operations, management, and technical leadership on proposals and active projects

Senior Principal Automation Engineer – Advanced Manufacturing Systems

• Design, develop, and maintain UI, API, and integration automation frameworks for web and backend applications
• Analyze functional and technical requirements to identify high-value automation candidates and test coverage gaps
• Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts within Agile sprints and release cycles
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to shift testing left and ensure quality from design through deployment
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and faster feedback loops
• Perform API testing, data validation (SQL), and backend verification to ensure end-to-end quality
• Identify, log, track, and triage defects using standard defect management tools, and perform root cause analysis
• Support SIT, UAT, regression, and smoke testing, including automation of repetitive test scenarios
• Continuously improve automation frameworks for stability, scalability, and maintainability
