• Gathering evidence from flagged transaction data and from customers’ claim submissions and probing further where needed
• Using Monzo’s values to investigate the nature of suspicious transactions with empathy and attention to detail.
• Use of Monzo’s values to reassure and support customers through the process of identifying active fraud.
• Safeguarding compromised accounts and taking appropriate remedial action to ensure customers can resume safe usage of their Monzo account.
• Providing advice and support to victims of fraud on how they can protect themselves in the future.
• Communication to and from other banks about potential fraudsters in ours/their customer base
• Communication to and from CIFAS about potential fraudsters in Monzo’s customer base
• Communication with law enforcement about crime we discover as part of our investigations
• Submitting accounts for closure where first party concerns are held following investigation (in line with relevant guidance)

Senior Fraud Investigator, English & Italian Speaking

Senior Fraud Investigator investigating suspicious transactions and supporting fraud prevention at Monzo. Engaging with customers, banks, and law enforcement to ensure safety and resolution.

• You’ll carry out thorough investigations and gather evidence on suspected fraudulent claims for personal injury, vehicle damage and credit hire
• You’ll conduct telephone interviews with customers as well as engaging external suppliers including accident investigators, motor engineers and panel solicitors
• You’ll assess evidence including intelligence, Police reports, medical records and engineering evidence to identify inconsistencies and determine the outcome
• You’ll identify cases of potential Fundamental Dishonesty, private prosecutions, or professional enabler involvement
• You’ll provide advice and support to business areas with regard to potential fraud risks.
• You’ll process payments on claims files as required and in accordance with authorities.
• You’ll ensure claim files are reserved accurately and reserves amended where required.
• You’ll meet agreed fraud KPI’s and targets.
• You’ll ensure compliance with Company financial crime procedures and related policies.
• You’ll submit Suspicious Activity Reports as necessary to the Company MLRO.
• You’ll ensure compliance with Consumer Duty principles when liaising with customers.
• You’ll build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
• You’ll be compliant with health and safety policies at all times.
• You’ll ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times.
• You’ll produce high quality written reports and advice for the business, to include recommendations.

Fraud Investigator, Level 1 – 12 Month FTC

Fraud Investigator role at 1st Central focusing on investigating fraudulent claims. Engaging with customers and external suppliers to gather evidence and assess claims.

• You’ll conduct important fraud checks into new applicants and existing customers, as well as more detailed investigations.
• You’ll work in the office 3 days per week. Depending on your preference, you can opt to work at either our London office or our Kent office.
• You'll work 40 hours per week. This means you'll work Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm, with a one hour lunch break.
• You'll also work one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday), once every 4 weeks, and have two weekdays off in lieu.
• You’ll conduct fraud investigations around scams and application fraud.
• You’ll utilise fraud systems and intelligence sources to make case decisions.
• You’ll report fraud to organisations such as Cifas.
• You’ll support new application checks and existing customer monitoring to proactively prevent fraud.
