Civil Engineer

• Design and analysis of substation site infrastructure for high-voltage electrical facilities, including structural steel, foundations, rigid bus systems, site grading, stormwater management, oil containment, and substation sanitary and water services.
• Assist in the development and approval of project scopes, specifications, engineering designs, details, material ordering, and cost estimates.
• Adhere to project schedules, including detailed planning of successive construction phases.
• Coordinate with Substation Engineering and Design to communicate project details.
• Review engineering vendor submittals and participate in vendor meetings.
• Review all construction drawings and design documentation prior to issuance to construction contractors.

• The Construction Engineer I supports four core Construction Engineering functions across SOLV’s EPC operations by providing engineering coordination, technical communication, and documentation rigor.
• This role contributes to Warranty Analysis, by gathering data and supporting engineering review of potential design or installation issues.
• Emerging Technologies Implementation, by assisting with GPS-enabled pile driving, drone-based survey workflows, and new construction tools.
• Construction Engineering Support During Operations, by coordinating RFIs, design updates, and field engineering clarifications.
• Pile Load Testing Support During Initial Design, by assisting with planning, scheduling, documentation, and engineering communication for pre-construction pile testing programs.
• This role is remote and will require travel.

Construction Engineer I

Structural Engineering Portfolio Leader

• Serve as an in-house Structural Engineer to support the planning, engineering, and construction phase services for a variety of public infrastructure projects throughout New England
• Perform design of buildings and non-building structures for a variety of public and private clients
• Work with in-house civil and environmental engineers and landscape architects to support primarily municipal and industrial projects
• Provide structural analysis and design
• Perform structural calculations using a variety of software tools
• Mentor junior engineers and technical staff
• Project types include, but are not limited to: Building design, Non-building industrial or utility structures such as access platforms, vaults, and pump stations, Building and non-building structure condition assessments, Park structures and pedestrian structures, Marine structures, Retaining structure design, Foundation design for tanks and other pre-engineered structures, Engineering services during construction, Support for building demolition or partial demolition

Senior Structural Engineer

• Perform engineering analysis and design reviews
• Oversee infrastructure projects (water, sewer, roads, facilities)
• Support cost estimating, risk analysis, and quality control
• Prepare SOW/SoO and technical documentation
• Conduct site inspections and compliance reviews
• Coordinate with contractors and government stakeholders

Civil Engineer, PE/EIT – Federal Infrastructure Projects

• Assist with the planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects;
• Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment;
• Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, test and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics and topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects;
• Recommend new approaches and ideas that continuously improve efficiency and services performed;
• Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics;
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments;
• Perform other duties as requested.

Entry Level Civil Engineer

• Serves as a Lead Engineer who supervises a team of structural engineers, designers and technicians in production of structural construction documents including drawings, specifications, bidding and construction administration for large complex projects including calculation and document reviews.
• Develops cost effective system layouts as well as performing calculations and coordination with other disciplines.
• Performs site visits for documentation and cost estimating of existing systems and building conditions.
• Prepares technical specifications.
• Reviews and evaluates shop drawings and product submittals.
• Visits construction sites to inspect work in progress or completed.
• Maintains and manages budgets for projects including hours and resources.
• Maintains client relationships Prepares Engineering Reports.
• Completes complex and specialty types of design.
• Stays abreast of technical advancements in respective field and disseminates information to others.
• Works closely with regional managers on managing workload allocation and assists on the preparation of business proposals for new work.
