Actuary

• Demonstrate commitment to career development and growing financial acumen by pursuing actuarial credentials and membership in the Society of Actuaries
• Prepare and analyze intermediate level data for use in actuarial experience studies, valuation or pricing projects

• Managing the implementation, maintenance and critical review and analysis of models, studies and systems which use actuarial principles for the purposes of pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting and other actuarial functions
• Developing complicated models and teaching others how to develop models
• Developing written and oral presentations that drive the delivery of information for decision making
• Managing day-to-day projects that may include non-actuarial departments
• Possessing and demonstrating a deep understanding of one actuarial area or business segment

Managing Actuary

• Own a high‑impact actuarial or analytical project aligned to real business needs

Actuarial Internship

• Architect the Savings Engine: Advance the foundational actuarial models for Embold Edge that link physician quality to tangible medical cost reduction.
• External Market Authority: Act as the technical face of Embold Edge. You will engage with health plan actuaries, consultants, and other external stakeholders to validate our savings methodology and actuarial assumptions.
• Reporting Savings: You will work with Client Success and Client Reporting teams to develop quarterly and annual client deliverables and identify key program value levers and opportunities for improvement.
• Publication: Partner internally and external parties to publish program performance and contribute to the broader dialogue in the actuarial and employee benefits/HR community.
• Alternative Health Plan (AHP) Strategy: Design innovative financial structures for our health plan partners, including risk-sharing, performance-based pricing, and surplus-sharing models that reward quality.
• Rapid Prototyping: Work directly with the leadership across organizations to iterate on 'next generation' solutions. You must be able to model outcomes for new products that don't have decades of legacy data.

Principal Actuary

• Pricing responsibility for all Supplemental Health factors and methodology for Accidental Injury, Critical Illness, and Hospital Care
• Ensure rate compliance from rate filing strategy and execution through systems implementation
• Provide experience updates to Finance matrix partners to support accurate reserving and projections
• Collaborate with business partners across the Supplemental Health team to shape development of new solutions and market strategies
• Engage with Claims and Operations to explore and implement process efficiencies
• Perform actuarial actual-to-expected studies to assess manual rating accuracy of core Supplemental Health products
• Provide pricing insight and support for key portfolio initiatives
• Oversee implementation of pricing factors/methodology and supporting engine testing
• Communicate actuarial results, risks, and opportunities to both the Pricing & Underwriting and Supplemental Health Leadership teams
