About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop on-vehicle embedded software/firmware in C and C++ in a real-time environment
Develop supporting tools connecting vehicle software to Zoox’s off-vehicle infrastructure, typically using Python
Author requirements and design documentation
Coordinate test strategies with Component V&V Engineers
Troubleshoot and root-cause field problems from the system level through platform internals
Develop, extend, and maintain support for multiple embedded platforms for Zoox vehicles
Collaborate with electrical engineers, embedded software engineers, and validation engineers to support advanced platforms and accelerate application development

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of experience
Experience with C/C++ development
Experience with systems programming in a real-time (RTOS) environment
Understanding of RTOS platform development
Understanding how to link software/firmware to hardware
Understanding how MCU bootloaders generally work
Python development experience is a bonus qualification
Network/CAN programming experience is a bonus qualification
Extensive bootloader experience is a bonus qualification
MCU security experience is a bonus qualification
