About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and implement highly scalable and reliable web applications to support Zoox's autonomous robotaxi service under the supervision of more senior engineers.
Collaborate with software engineering teams, PMs, designers to build new features.
Collaborate with experienced engineers to enhance existing software systems by optimizing latency, CPU/memory usage, and database queries.
Have the chance to grow into a Senior Engineer with the support of your manager, mentor and team members.

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, plus 3+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, or Python.
Experience building applications with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, Svelte) and/or backend web frameworks (e.g. Flask, FastAPI).
Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools and workflows to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and user experiences.
Proficiency in a low-level language such as Java, Kotlin, C, C++, or Rust (Bonus).
Familiarity with low-level Linux system protocols, firmware, and ECUs (Bonus).
Experience developing tools that support operations (Bonus).
