About the role
- Design products that are elegant, accessible, and intuitive with a deep understanding of Zoox's remote Mission Control operations teams
- Support Zoox Mission Control operations team and design operations tools
- Partner closely with high-velocity, cross-functional development teams
- Drive product roadmap and strategy decisions for operations tooling
- Inspire and align teams through persuasive storytelling
- Contribute to the evolution and maintenance of Zoox's design systems and principles
- Work across Zoox’s vertically integrated service: ride-hailing app, internal tools, human-AI interaction design, in-vehicle interfaces, lighting, and sound
- Rapid prototyping to accelerate decision making and development time
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant design experience inside a commercial business
- A genuine curiosity and passion for solving transportation challenges in cities
- Figma expertise
- A portfolio showcasing product work loved by users and produced in high-velocity teams
- Command of visual design, UI patterns, and interaction principles
- Strong prototyping abilities that accelerate decision making and development time
- Experience running projects independently end to end as the lead designer
- Ability to inspire teams by bringing new ideas to the table
- Ability to balance craft and speed
- Strong collaboration with product management, engineering, research, data, and other designers
- Proficient in accessible designing systems and implementing WCAG standards
- Bonus Qualifications:
- Ability to code and ship to production
- Experience building AI features or products
- Experience building or significantly evolving design systems
- Expertise in motion design and animation
