About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct cybersecurity discovery and assessments for municipal IT environments, including websites, email systems, and infrastructure.
Perform inventory and analysis of municipal websites, identify CMS platforms, vulnerabilities, and recommend secure configurations or migrations.
Assess and improve email security, including secure configuration, phishing protection, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) implementation.
Identify cybersecurity risks and provide remediation recommendations and implementation support.
Assist municipalities with security control implementation, including authentication, access management, and system hardening.
Evaluate and improve security monitoring, logging, and threat detection capabilities.
Provide cybersecurity policy guidance, best practices, and risk reduction recommendations for municipalities.
Prepare and deliver assessment reports, implementation documentation, and project status updates throughout the engagement.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Cybersecurity risk assessment
Web application security
Email security configuration
Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Vulnerability analysis
Security reporting and documentation
Experience with Government cybersecurity projects (preferred)
Knowledge of Cloud email systems (Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace)
Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal)
