About the role

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performance RESTful and/or event-driven services
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and solution architects
  • Write clean, testable, and well-documented code
  • Contribute to system design discussions and technical decision-making
  • Participate in code reviews and support best engineering practices
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing systems
  • Support deployments and production systems where required

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python
  • Experience building backend services using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture patterns
  • Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests
  • Understanding of basic cloud concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
