About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Originate and manage purchase mortgage loans from application through closing while ensuring compliance with all requirements
  • Convert company-provided purchase opportunities into funded loans through proactive follow-up and borrower consultation
  • Build relationships with customers, Zillow Preferred Agents, and local partners where applicable
  • Manage an active pipeline while meeting service levels, productivity metrics, and funding expectations
  • Use Zillow’s CRM, loan origination systems, and data-driven tools to manage pipeline health and customer engagement
  • Partner with processing, underwriting, and closing teams to move loans efficiently
  • Deliver customer service through phone, email, and text communication
  • Stay current on market trends, lending programs, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain active licensing, complete required education, and participate in professional development
  • Collect, store, and use voiceprints for operational and compliance purposes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of mortgage origination experience, emphasizing purchase transactions
  • Active NMLS Loan Originator state licenses or Loan Originator status under a federal bank license
  • Completion of the 20-hour CORE Pre-Licensing Education
  • Successful passage of the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator Test – National Component with Uniform State Content
  • Located within 75 miles of the Washington DC branch
  • Proven success originating purchase loans in a high-volume phone-based sales environment or agent-centric referral model
  • Strong client service orientation and consultative sales skills
  • Deep understanding of the mortgage process
  • Ability to work in a structured, performance-driven environment with defined KPIs
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management, organization, and pipeline management skills
  • Proficiency with CRM, loan origination systems, Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
