About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design full-course curricula for Elementary School Literacy, including scope and sequence, unit plans, and daily lesson plans
Develop high-quality instructional materials, including student-facing lessons and text-based activities; writing prompts, discussion protocols, and projects; assessments and rubrics aligned to grade-level standards
Curate and develop diverse, high-quality text sets that reflect multiple perspectives and lived experiences
Ensure alignment to New York State standards and Zeta’s academic vision and outcomes
Embed explicit instruction in literacy skills, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical analysis
Design performance-based assessments that measure both content knowledge and transferable skills
Collaborate with academic leaders, instructional coaches, and other curriculum writers to ensure alignment and coherence
Iterate on curriculum based on educator feedback, student work, and assessment data

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree
At least three years of teaching or leadership experience in Literacy.
