About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design full-course curricula for Elementary School Literacy, including scope and sequence, unit plans, and daily lesson plans
- Develop high-quality instructional materials, including student-facing lessons and text-based activities; writing prompts, discussion protocols, and projects; assessments and rubrics aligned to grade-level standards
- Curate and develop diverse, high-quality text sets that reflect multiple perspectives and lived experiences
- Ensure alignment to New York State standards and Zeta’s academic vision and outcomes
- Embed explicit instruction in literacy skills, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical analysis
- Design performance-based assessments that measure both content knowledge and transferable skills
- Collaborate with academic leaders, instructional coaches, and other curriculum writers to ensure alignment and coherence
- Iterate on curriculum based on educator feedback, student work, and assessment data
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least three years of teaching or leadership experience in Literacy.
