About the role
- You are responsible for the successful delivery of software projects regarding user experience design, including user interface design, and you always keep the needs of users in focus.
- You lead projects across all design phases and advocate internally at Zeilenwerk for the meaningful application of UX design.
- You are familiar with Human-Centered Design and experienced in applying user-centered design methods.
- You take the design lead in medium and large projects, work closely with your project team, and can clearly articulate the conditions and resources you need to implement the design successfully.
- Depending on the project, you are supported by other designers whom you mentor and guide.
- You lead workshops with clients and feel confident and at ease when presenting.
- You also enjoy representational duties and are comfortable speaking in professional contexts.
- You contribute internally to our Design Community of Practice and, optionally, to the wider organization in roles you choose.
- You promote a productive working atmosphere and support the Business Development team with your expertise during tendering processes.
Requirements
- Several years of experience as a design lead for web or software projects (preferably in agile environments)
- Solid understanding of Human-Centered and User-Centered Design and the corresponding methods
- Strong understanding of user interface design for software and web applications
- Experience creating, maintaining, and adapting design systems for software and web applications, based on common libraries
- Expertise with design and collaboration tools
- Knowledge of accessibility
- Experience leading design team members
- Experience collaborating with developers, product owners, and Scrum Masters
- Good communication skills and a strong sense for interpersonal dynamics
- Strong self-reflection and a quick grasping ability
- Experience with self-organized organizations
- Strong German and English skills (business-fluent in both written and spoken, C1 or higher)
