About the role
- You are responsible for the successful delivery of software projects from a user experience perspective, including user interface design, and you always keep the needs of end users in mind
- You lead projects across all design phases and advocate internally at Zeilenwerk for the thoughtful application of UX design
- You are familiar with Human-Centered Design and experienced in applying user-centered design methods
- You take the design lead on medium and large projects, work closely with your project team, and can clearly articulate the conditions you need to implement the design successfully
- You facilitate workshops with clients and feel confident and at ease when presenting
- You are also motivated by representational responsibilities and enjoy speaking in professional contexts
- You contribute to our internal Design Community of Practice and, optionally, to the wider organization in roles you choose
- You support a productive team culture and assist the Business Development team with tender/proposal work using your expertise
Requirements
- Several years of experience as a design lead on web or software projects (preferably in Agile environments)
- Strong understanding of Human-Centered and User-Centered Design and their associated methods
- Solid knowledge of user interface design for software and web applications
- Experience creating, maintaining, and adapting design systems for software and web applications, based on common libraries
- Proficiency with design and collaboration tools
- Knowledge of accessibility (a11y) principles and practices
- Experience leading and mentoring design team members
- Experience collaborating with developers, product owners, and Scrum Masters
- Strong communication skills and a good sense of interpersonal dynamics
- Highly reflective with a quick grasp of new concepts
- Experience working in self-organizing organisations
- Excellent German and English skills (business fluent in written and spoken, C1 or higher)
