About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, pricing proposals, and bid submissions for traffic signal, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), roadway lighting, communications, maintenance, and transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Analyze solicitation documents, specifications, plans, contracts, labor requirements, equipment costs, subcontractor quotes, procurement lead times, and project risks to develop complete project pricing and proposal packages.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Project Management, Legal, and Finance to support profitable project execution and successful bid outcomes.
  • Serve as a key contributor to the proposal development process and act as a subject matter resource regarding project costing, procurement strategy, and constructability considerations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Project Management or related discipline.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • 5 years of experience in estimating, project management, proposal development, procurement, supply chain, construction, transportation, or related industry experience.
  • Preferred: Traffic signal industry experience.
  • Preferred: ITS industry experience.
  • Preferred: Transportation infrastructure experience.
  • Preferred: Design-build project experience.
  • Preferred: Government contracting experience.
  • Preferred: Public agency bid experience.
  • Preferred Certifications: Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), Project Management Professional (PMP), APMP Proposal Management Certification, IMSA Traffic Signal Certification, ATSSA Traffic Control Certification.
  • Industry knowledge of traffic signal operations, traffic control devices, ITS technologies, transportation construction, and applicable standards is highly desirable.
