Key responsibilities & impact

Shape how Xero’s technology organization operates in the AI era
Build shared platforms and operating models enabling AI-native delivery across Xero
Develop AI harnesses, model gateways and agents to improve delivery speed, safety, efficiency and reduce toil
Drive initiatives across the full delivery lifecycle, combining strategy, execution and measurable organizational impact
Drive decision-making across products and teams
Connect work across different phases of development
Train and coach others in strong AI product practices
Build and scale capabilities behind Xero’s AI-native delivery model
Align stakeholders on strategy and priorities
Set baselines for adoption, delivery speed, cost, quality and technology health
Publish quarterly roadmaps, operating models and governance approaches
Move high-value workflows from pilot into repeatable adoption
Build relationships with Engineering, Security, Data and other teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong platform product management experience, ideally across developer tools, infrastructure, data or AI
Systems thinking across various phases and teams
Ability to translate complex technical possibilities into clear outcomes and investment decisions
Outcome-focused approach to discovery, delivery and measurement
Ability to prove what is working
Comfort with ambiguity, evolving technology and incomplete information
Curiosity and pragmatism
Resilience to turn early experiments into scalable products
Must have working rights for the country this role is based in, or require and disclose visa assistance
