About the role
- Engage, understand, collaborate, and communicate effectively with peers and teams across Xero to drive continuous improvement towards Xero’s sustainably excellent engineering vision.
- Lead your team of engineers to successfully identify, scope, manage, and complete high quality work which delivers measurable improvements to production systems in a timely manner.
- Build cross-team relationships for win-win outcomes
- Foster team growth through feedback, coaching, and opportunities for advancement
- Analyse system health and make regular system health reviews
- Support engineers during incidents and facilitate post incident reviews
- Maintain current knowledge of technologies used in the development of Xero’s software applications.
- Build cross-team relationships and manage stakeholder expectations
Requirements
- You’ll be a seasoned Team Lead, bringing substantial experience in guiding software delivery and engineering teams through Lean and/or Agile methodologies.
- You'll have a technical/software engineering background
- Your deep understanding of modern software delivery practices and the entire software development lifecycle is evident in your track record of successful team leadership.
- You’ll have a proven track record as coach and mentor, adept at leveraging your extensive software delivery, technical experience, and expertise to provide impactful guidance.
- You'll possess high EQ and a true growth mindset; understanding that competency is not fixed but is enhanced through dedication and hard work.
- You'll have a strong understanding of the importance of Xero's Engineering standards and practices and are able to coach teams to adhere to them.
