About the role

Transform legacy systems into scalable, containerized solutions to modernize USGS applications
Design, build, and support a secure and automated AWS environment
Develop and manage infrastructure as code and optimize CI/CD pipelines
Operate and orchestrate containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes
Partner with the Elevation team to advance cloud modernization efforts supporting the mission

Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, software engineering, or a related field with at least 4 years of relevant experience
Proficiency in building applications with Python or JavaScript
Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications in AWS using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and ECS/EKS
Strong knowledge of IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
Experience with GitHub or GitLab for source control and CI/CD pipeline development
Skilled in building, running, and orchestrating containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes
