About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Structure financing mechanisms and arrangements for the restoration of native vegetation, including models applicable to the supply chain, compliance with the Forest Code, and solutions for restoration on public lands, catalyzing the implementation of PLANAVEG;
Promote alignment on the topic with other relevant governmental and non-governmental entities;
Maintain an advocacy network with relevant private-sector stakeholders on the topic, such as restoration/carbon companies, investors and offtakers for priority value chains;
Identify, qualify and support the mobilization of financial resources from investors, financial institutions and the private sector, aligned with the restoration strategy;
Translate the needs of the restoration strategy into viable financial solutions, connecting field opportunities with financing instruments;
Prepare work plans, Terms of Reference, reports, technical documents and other materials related to the execution of activities/projects under your responsibility;
Lead technical execution and financial monitoring of projects/activities under your responsibility in accordance with WWF Brazil and WWF Network tools and methodologies;
Contribute to the technical direction of the finance-for-restoration agenda, in coordination with team members and internal leadership;
Support monitoring of the impact and results of projects/activities under your responsibility in coordination with WWF Brazil’s monitoring plan;
Support the production of communication and mobilization materials, such as studies, videos and other products;
Represent the organization on matters within your area of expertise with the WWF Network, other NGOs, government, the private sector, research institutes, financial institutions, individuals and leaders to ensure progress of integrated actions and projects;
Act at the interface between the Restoration and Green Finance Circles, ensuring strategic alignment and integration of agendas.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in economics, finance or related fields;
Advanced English (speaking, comprehension and writing at an advanced level for meetings with international stakeholders, drafting materials and reports, etc.);
Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in Finance for Restoration, including experience in finance applied to climate, biodiversity, land use, agriculture or nature-based solutions;
Proven experience in at least one of the following areas:
Structuring financial mechanisms or instruments;
Mobilizing resources from investors or financial institutions;
Developing financial models applied to climate, biodiversity or land use;
Carbon market;
Private financial mechanisms or public financing;
Experience engaging with the private sector, financial institutions, investors or government, and multi-stakeholder platforms.
Preferred: Knowledge of native vegetation restoration;
Experience in economic and financial feasibility analysis of projects or mechanisms;
Availability to travel.
