About the role

  • Development of an integrated modelling system to simulate hydrological variations resulting from climate change and reservoir operation (TALSIM)
  • Updating and project-specific calibration of hydrological modelling for reservoir catchment areas
  • Incorporation of current climate projections to determine future inflow availability
  • Modelling the impacts of future inflow scenarios on reservoir management (including TALSIM) and development of alternative management rules
  • Conceptual assessment of existing transfer options and analysis of additional usage potential as well as possible expansions within the reservoir network
  • Derivation of adaptation options for climate- and structural-change-resilient reservoir management to secure water resources and flood protection
  • Independent scientific contribution to the research project and collaboration within an interdisciplinary research team

Requirements

  • Master's or Diplom degree in Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Civil Engineering or a comparable field
  • Knowledge of hydrological modelling of river catchments is an advantage
  • Ideally, initial experience in reservoir operation/management
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team, and an independent, conceptual and structured way of working
