About the role
- Lead in delivering traffic engineering and ITS services for our public and private clients
- Lead research and implementation of emerging technologies to offer value added services to your clients
- Manage traffic engineering projects and ensure quality of products and conformance to budget
- Prepare and/or review traffic design and construction documents for traffic signal, roadway illumination, ITS, signing and pavement marking based on state and national standards
- Conduct and/or oversee traffic modeling
- Develop traffic signal timing
- Perform traffic engineering and safety analysis and develop technical memorandums
- Supervise the work of other engineers and technicians
- Review work for accuracy and coordinate with others functional groups to ensure quality assurance and quality control for all final products
- Business development: pursue new / further develop existing client relationships, focusing on innovative ideas and trends
- Actively participate in the preparation of proposals
- Develop action plans to identify potential opportunities and track progress
- Research and implement emerging technologies to offer value added services to your clients
- Manage internal and external client relationships
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school
- 8+ years of experience with traffic engineering and related design packages
- MN PE license or the ability to obtain their license within six months
- Preferred: Experience with MnDOT projects
- Preferred: PTOE and RSP certifications
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Experience with design/analysis software packages including Microstation, AutoCAD, Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, CORSIM
- Ability to work 40 hours a week.
- Ability to work in the posted locations.
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment with standard office equipment, occasional travel or field visits may be required to support
