About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in overseeing aspects of the safety program
- Review critical field observations and safety data and provide feedback to the Safety Manager
- Administer operational improvements
- Ensure compliance with SCE safety standards, handbook, and COSP
- Analyze safety data in Lytx, Geotab, and Fleetio
- Identify safety trends, incident reports, and processes to determine corrective actions and/or training
- Compile and submit monthly safety deliverables to the client
- Complete job behavior observations on field personnel and follow up with corrective actions
- Collaborate with the team to identify client safety challenges and develop appropriate trainings and processes
- Perform regular field work to remain current with inspection processes and practices
- Support and participate in Wright and CNUC’s culture of safety and employee ownership
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and procedures
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Travel outside as required and remain on duty during emergencies or natural disasters when required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Five years’ experience supporting or leading safety programs from any industry
- ISA Arborist Certification
- State-issued driver’s license with a clear MVR
- Complete OSHA 30 within 6 months of start date
- Tree Risk Assessment Qualification
- Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and DOT safety rules and regulations
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations relating to Utility Vegetation Management (UVM)
- Knowledge of jobsite hazard risk assessment and appropriate hazard controls
- Proficiency in program specifications, regulations, and standards
- Ability to train and educate employees on safety initiatives
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Superior organization and time management skills
- Ability to perform the physical, environmental, and intellectual/emotional requirements of the position
