About the role

Woven by Toyota is enabling Toyota’s once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company. Our work centers on four pillars: AD/ADAS, Arene, Woven City, and Cloud & AI. TEAM: Woven by Toyota’s AD/ADAS organization is developing core algorithms for safe and robust driving. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Systems-minded engineer to develop motion planner and ETL algorithms for autonomous driving.

M.S., Ph.D., or equivalent, in Robotics, Control, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or other quantitative fields. 3+ years of experience in the development of motion planning algorithms, e.g. trajectory optimization, sampling-based planning, model predictive control, and machine learning. Hands-on experience with data processing pipeline and ETL pipeline. Hands-on experience with architecture design and building a planning stack for autonomous robots. Hands-on experience working with localization reference frame transformations Hands-on experience building ML datasets from temporal driving data signals consisting of varying frequencies and latencies Strong programming skills in C++ and Python. An excellent communicator, skilled collaborator, and principled colleague. Strong R&D potential in algorithm design, data-driven approaches to safety, and large-scale systems architecture. A strong, practical understanding of real-time system development, performance issues, testing modalities, and tradeoffs.
