About the role
- Build, maintain, and performance-tune production databases for high availability and reliability
- Create and maintain logical/physical database structures and related components
- Monitor database applications and DBMS statistics; recommend performance improvements
- Manage database authorization, security standards, and compliance procedures
- Support development, application maintenance, and business teams with database expertise
- Troubleshoot database, software, and application issues
- Install, upgrade, and patch DBMS software and applications
- Conduct disaster recovery preparation and testing
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and automated procedures
- Manage ongoing operations: version releases, tuning, capacity planning, archiving, integrity checks, log analysis, job scheduling, scripting, indexing, reorganizations, and change control.
Requirements
- 8+ years DBA experience in large, complex environments
- 8+ years with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or higher)
- 6+ years querying with Microsoft Transact-SQL
- 4+ years as a SQL Infrastructure DBA (backups, replication, configuration)
- 4+ years with SQL Server High Availability Groups
- 4+ years with PowerBI, PowerView, SQL Reporting, and Analytical Services
- Education: Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- Eligibility: Must be able to obtain Enhanced Security Clearance.
