About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure that the commercial, innovation, technology, real estate, sponsorship, data licensing and service activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Development and implementation of best practice legal strategies for risk management and compliance
Legal advice and support to the business on CIT Areas, including regulatory advice and advocacy, innovation and technology strategy, and contract drafting
Representation of the bank in legal proceedings related to CIT Areas
Create and review legal documents including agreements and licenses for compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Conduct legal research and analysis to stay up to date on changes in laws and regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Dynamic and solutions-focused senior qualified lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or similar in the UK or another comparable jurisdiction) with relevant post-qualification experience (in-house and/or private practice)
Experience advising on and managing legal risk arising in compliance with organisational policies and standards
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload, partnering with a variety of stakeholders
Familiarity with industry-standard construction and consultancy contracting models
Understanding of legal rules and regulations impacting service provision at a financial services institution
