About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure that the commercial, innovation, technology, real estate, sponsorship, data licensing and service activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Development and implementation of best practice legal strategies for risk management and compliance
- Legal advice and support to the business on CIT Areas, including regulatory advice and advocacy, innovation and technology strategy, and contract drafting
- Representation of the bank in legal proceedings related to CIT Areas
- Create and review legal documents including agreements and licenses for compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Conduct legal research and analysis to stay up to date on changes in laws and regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Dynamic and solutions-focused senior qualified lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or similar in the UK or another comparable jurisdiction) with relevant post-qualification experience (in-house and/or private practice)
- Experience advising on and managing legal risk arising in compliance with organisational policies and standards
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload, partnering with a variety of stakeholders
- Familiarity with industry-standard construction and consultancy contracting models
- Understanding of legal rules and regulations impacting service provision at a financial services institution
