About the role
- Support the development and delivery of audits aligned to the bank’s standards and objectives
- Identify operational risks to support delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit Audit Plan through risk assessments
- Assess internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned to regulatory requirements
- Communicate key findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, senior managers and directors
- Identify regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practice
- Lead or guide teams on complex tasks, set objectives, coach and appraise employees (Assistant Vice President expectations)
- Consult on complex issues and provide advice to People Leaders to support escalated issue resolution
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of control and governance
- Collaborate with other functions/business divisions to keep up to speed with business activity and strategy
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources to solve problems and influence stakeholders
Requirements
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of audits across business functions
- Conduct risk assessments for Operations, Compliance, Fraud, Credit, and Models
- Leverage data analytics tools (Excel VBA, Python, Tableau)
- Validate regulatory and audit issues ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal standards
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify emerging risks and recommend control improvements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting
- Leadership responsibilities: advise and influence decision making, lead teams, set objectives and coach employees
