Support the Risk Function in identifying, assessing, mitigating and monitoring risks across business units and activities.
Develop strategic direction for risk, including implementing up-to-date methodologies and processes.
Manage the risk department including oversight of colleagues, performance, risk priorities and department effectiveness.
Relationship management with risk stakeholders, including third-party service providers.
Ensure adherence to Risk policy, standards and frameworks and maintain a robust control environment.
Perform prescribed analyst activities in a timely manner and drive continuous improvement.
Lead and supervise a team, allocate work and coordinate team resources (where applicable).
Escalate breaches of policies/procedures appropriately and embed new risk mitigation policies/procedures.
Advise and influence decision making within area of expertise and take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls.
Requirements
Qualification within a relevant subject.
Proficiency in SQL.
Considerable analytical and problem-solving skills.
Background in financial services and/or experience working with large data sets.
Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and evolving environments.
Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau.
Potential leadership/people management responsibilities (lead and supervise a team).
May be assessed on risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology and job-specific technical skills.
