About the role

  • Provide independent and balanced advice and counsel to senior stakeholders through problem identification, solving and decision making practices
  • Provision of strategic advice to Group Executives to support decision-making of business challenges and opportunities
  • Develop and implement strategic advisory incentives to grow and optimise the bank’s operations through market research and analysis
  • Collaborate with various stakeholder groups to identify appropriate strategic direction to meet needs of Barclays clients and investors
  • Develop financial models to support strategic recommendations and transactions, including financial data analysis and considering financial impact of transactions
  • Manage transactions, negotiations, transaction structure development and post-transaction integration
  • Maintain and develop client relationships and identify new opportunities with internal stakeholders
  • Identify industry trends, maintain peer benchmarking and keep up with developments by attending conferences, participating in training and conducting market research
  • Extract meaningful insights from complex data sets, develop robust decision models, and present actionable recommendations to stakeholders
  • Lead or guide teams on complex tasks, set objectives, coach employees and contribute to policy development and operational effectiveness

Requirements

  • Proven experience in analytics, data science, or research roles
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proficiency in analytical methodologies and data interpretation
  • Ability to translate business problems into analytical frameworks
  • Experience presenting complex findings to non-technical audiences
  • Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of data visualization techniques and storytelling with data
  • Experience with project delivery in an analytical context
  • Understanding of data quality and integrity principles
  • Experience at a large Consulting firm (preferably Analytics consulting) (highly valued)
  • Experience in the financial services industry (highly valued)
  • Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.) (highly valued)
  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks
  • Understanding of agile methodologies
  • Experience mentoring junior team members
  • Knowledge of programming languages commonly used in analytics (Python, R, SQL)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • May be assessed on risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology
