About the role
- Build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products to support applications and data systems
- Ensure reliability, availability, scalability and security of systems through software engineering techniques and automation
- Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance; measure, identify and resolve issues and outages
- Develop and implement automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
- Implement secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure and data
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, architects and other engineers to define IT infrastructure requirements and ensure integration
- Support delivery of Location Strategy projects and drive digital landscape evolution
- Manage escalated tickets, weekend L3 changes and major incidents
- Coach and develop less experienced staff and lead/supervise team activities where required
- Provide input into Cloud & Virtualisation project plans and introduce changes in infrastructure
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of vCenter and ESXi installation, configuration / troubleshooting
- Fair knowledge about VMware SAN / VCF infrastructure using SDDC manager
- Experience managing weekend Complex/ L3 Changes
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with vRA, vRO, vROps, vSAN, vSAN Max, vRLI (Certification will be advantage)
- Hands on Experience on HP ILO & Dell idrac
- NSX & NSXT Basic Knowledge
- Good knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation
- Basic Knowledge of vIDM, vRLCM
- Understanding of servers, storage, operating systems, databases and network and their interaction with virtual environment
- Ability to build & maintain strong working relationships with other technical teams using SRE model & mindset
- Experience managing escalated tickets from Service Ops and Major incidents
- Deep understanding of ITIL
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise several projects to meet deadlines
- Ability to perform with minimal supervision and work independently
- Ability to operate as part of a collaborative team and work under pressure
- Risk & Audit Compliance awareness
- Experience in Virtualization and Cloud Technology
- Preferred: VCP, VCAP, ITIL, AWS Certification
- Scripting experience would be an added advantage
