About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure financial services regulation activities are compliant with applicable laws and regulations
- Provide legal advice on regulatory affairs and risk management
- Support legal department in representing the bank in legal proceedings
- Review legislation and create legal documents to ensure compliance
- Conduct legal research on changes in laws and regulations
- Develop and deliver training on legal and regulatory requirements
- Identify and communicate legal advice on applicable laws and regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Senior qualified lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent)
- Relevant post-qualification experience in financial services, regulation, and commercial contracts
- Technical knowledge of and experience working on English law contracts or equivalent
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Experience supporting, supervising or developing other colleagues
- Understanding of DLT/blockchain systems
- Awareness of Barclays and its operational and strategic objectives
- Demonstrable experience of identifying improvements in processes and ways of working
