About the role
- Manage a specific product or portfolio and set the strategic direction
- Provide support to the bank's senior management team
- Manage product development risk across the organisation
- Develop strategic direction for specific product or portfolio
- Monitor financial performance of specific product or portfolio
- Conduct thorough market research to understand market trends and identify market opportunities
- Collaborate with stakeholders and maintain quality of external services
- Ensure alignment between product or portfolio and compliance functions
- Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of the UK payments market
- Solid commercial and technical understanding of payment scheme processes
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to draw insights from multiple data sources to identify trends and potential issues
- Proven planning, organizational, and delivery capabilities
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal — with the ability to adapt your message for a range of audiences, from senior executives to front-line colleagues
- Experience with project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or Agile
- Broad understanding of relevant products, including charge cards, corporate credit cards, B2B payments, and digital wallets
- A product development mindset, ideally with exposure to Design Thinking principles
