About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop governance: You are part of a strategy or analytics team responsible for developing and implementing governance strategies and policies.
Identify vulnerabilities: Based on an as‑is analysis of the process and IT landscape, you identify risks and weaknesses in the client's data governance environment.
Ensure compliance requirements are met: With your extensive data governance and security know‑how, you review data processes and procedures to ensure they meet compliance and regulatory requirements.
Create security concepts: You apply your knowledge of database technologies and other data-holding systems (blob stores, SQL, NoSQL, document and node databases) and modern modeling techniques (Data Vault, 3NF, Star Schema) to support clients in developing security concepts and to realize governance-specific client requirements in projects.
Take responsibility: You can independently run and steer projects as a project manager. Through project-related coordination and collaboration with architects, business units and decision-makers you support successful project implementation.
Communication is key: You maintain intensive communication with clients to ensure professional expectation management and customer satisfaction, with your project team to guarantee project success, and with the Woodmark team to promote knowledge exchange and mutual support.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Project experience: You have several years of experience in developing and implementing governance and security strategies.
Deep expertise: You have a thorough understanding of data security requirements and several years of experience creating security concepts and risk assessments.
Knowledge of multiple data storage technologies, such as SQL databases, data lakes, data lakehouses, document databases and node databases.
Advanced knowledge and practical experience with data management frameworks such as DMBoK (DAMA) or COBIT 5.
Basic understanding of different data structures (relational, JSON, XML) and the ability to derive appropriate storage approaches in layered models (3NF, Data Vault, Star Schema).
Comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements and security standards.
Certifications in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) or IT security are an advantage.
Stakeholder-oriented mindset: You are experienced in working with stakeholders at different levels.
Fluent German and strong English skills: You are comfortable working in German and with English documentation and can communicate in English when project work requires it.
