About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate and contribute as an integral part of our team in Japan as well as our engineering teams world-wide to deliver world-class renewable energy projects
  • Develop competences in offshore structural steel design of fixed offshore wind turbine foundations through supporting Tokyo based Senior Engineers
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports and technical notes documenting analyses and recommendations
  • Use programming skills and/or finite element capabilities to take part in the development of in-house engineering software
  • Collaborate with colleagues to prepare summary design documents in English and Japanese and support presentations and interface with local certification bodies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree or similar in civil, structural or mechanical engineering and relevant experience as a professional Engineer in these disciplines
  • Background in structural/geotechnical design or metocean analysis for offshore structures preferred
  • Experience in the Japanese offshore wind industry or similar projects in Japan is also of interest
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages, e.g. MATLAB, Python etc
  • Knowledge of Japanese design regulations and requirements for buildings or infrastructure
  • Business level (JLPT N2 or equivalent) in both written and spoken Japanese
  • Ability to comfortably conduct a business conversation in English
