About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply systems engineering principles throughout the system lifecycle, including concept development, requirements analysis, architecture development, integration, verification, validation, deployment, and operational support.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders and technical teams to develop and refine stakeholder requirements and mission needs.
- Coordinate across teams and organizations to ensure solutions satisfy technical and operational requirements.
- Assist in planning, tracking, and managing engineering activities, risks, dependencies, and technical decisions.
- Support the development of user-centric standards for human-in-the-loop and human-on-the-loop AI systems.
- Assist with cross-product integration activities to ensure consistency and interoperability across mission capabilities.
- Participate in the development, evaluation, and implementation of AI-related engineering standards and practices.
- Support technical implementation activities associated with AI-enabled mission systems.
- Assist in the development, testing, and refinement of frameworks used to evaluate AI system performance, trustworthiness, and operational effectiveness.
- Conduct analysis of alternatives and recommend engineering solutions.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of six (6) years of systems engineering experience supporting complex technical programs, consistent with SE Level III requirements.
- Experience applying systems engineering principles across multiple lifecycle phases, including requirements analysis, architecture development, integration, verification, validation, and operational support.
- Experience supporting stakeholder requirements development, technical planning, risk management, and information management activities.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze technical alternatives and recommend engineering solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in dynamic and rapidly changing environments.
