About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Take ownership of the Historic Newspapers digital product roadmap.
  • Lead the evolution of our website, enhancing customer journeys and improving conversion rates.
  • Collaborate with publishing, commercial and technology colleagues.
  • Be the bridge between design, engineering, and marketing, turning customer insights into usable, high-converting digital products.
  • Manage the product backlog, leading agile ceremonies and ensuring high-quality, timely releases of new functionality.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4–6 years of experience in e-commerce product management, with a strong focus on UX/UI and conversion optimisation.
  • Proven experience managing and deploying features on Shopify Plus, including understanding theme architectures, sections, and metafields.
  • Demonstrable experience working in visual design, interaction design, and working with design systems. (personally or through work with designers and agencies)
  • Expert-level proficiency with analytics tools (Google Analytics 4, Shopify Analytics) and experimentation platforms.
  • High proficiency in Figma (for prototyping and reviewing designs) and project management tools like JIRA
  • A customer-first, data-driven, and highly organised approach to tackling complex e-commerce challenges.
  • Experience with front-end development (HTML/CSS/Liquid) to understand feasibility.
  • Background in a high-growth DTC or premium consumer brand.
  • Experience in re-platforming or large-scale redesigns
  • Experience managing contract development teams
  • Experience working with in-house development teams
  • Passionate about some or all of the following areas - books, publishing, newspapers and history!
