Construction Project Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support project teams across all phases of construction
- Assist with permitting, bid coordination, subcontract management, and cost tracking
- Attend meetings, take notes, and maintain accurate project documentation (RFIs, submittals, schedules, reports)
- Coordinate with field teams and participate in site walks to monitor progress and identify issues
- Assist with budgeting, change orders, invoicing, and project financial tracking
- Support safety planning and help maintain a strong safety-first culture
- Communicate with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and design partners
- Contribute wherever needed—this role requires a team-first, hands-on approach
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Northern Michigan (Traverse City, Elk Rapids, Cadillac, etc.)
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Comfortable working both in the field and in an office setting
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative
- Valid driver’s license
- Preferred: Internship or field experience, familiarity with Procore, OSHA 10 (or willingness to obtain)
