About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work collaboratively within the Growth org with BD, proposals, technical program management, and contracts execution as an atmospheric science subject matter expert.
  • Attend customer engagements, presenting information and answering questions while tying back to WindBorne’s core capabilities and differentiators.
  • Develop and publish case studies that bolster our growth strategy through public engagement.
  • Identify new ways in which our emerging capabilities can support the scientific community and the needs of our customers.
  • Represent WindBorne across the scientific community at conferences, workshops, and industry forums, building and maintaining the relationships that expand our reach.
  • Support operational planning for our global launch operations.
  • Stay at the leading edge of atmospheric science, numerical weather prediction, and observational technology, bringing relevant advances back to inform our growth strategy and product direction.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least five years of experience as a meteorologist, atmospheric scientist, and/or forecaster.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and credibly to customers, partners, and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong writing skills, with experience producing case studies, publications, or technical documentation.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and heavy cross-functional collaboration.
  • Confidence presenting in customer-facing and public settings as the meteorological authority in the room.
  • Experience with data analysis tools and forecasting systems relevant to operational meteorology.
  • (Desired) Background with one or more of WindBorne’s core customer groups or industries, such as the DoW or NOAA.
