About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead multiple IT audit and cybersecurity risk engagements from planning through reporting
- Conduct FISMA, SSAE 18 SOC 1, FISCAM, and other IT and cybersecurity assessments
- Develop detailed engagement plans
- Oversee fieldwork
- Monitor engagement budgets and timelines
- Review workpapers, findings, audit documentation, reports, and deliverables
- Manage client relationships and present audit results to CIOs, CISOs, and executive leadership
- Communicate project status and submit deliverables to clients
- Coach, mentor, and develop seniors and associates
- Manage engagement schedules, staffing, and deliverables
- Apply project management practices to inspire teamwork and accountability
- Leverage emerging technologies, analytics, and firm tools to improve quality and efficiency
- Participate in internal firm initiatives
- Assist with proposals and new business development efforts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field
- Active Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification
- At least 6 years of experience in IT audit, cybersecurity, technology risk, or a related field
- At least 3–5 years of direct federal IT audit experience applying Government Accountability Office standards and frameworks, including FISMA and FISCAM requirements
- At least 3 years of experience leading audit teams and managing client engagements
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing audit professionals
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- High ethical standards, sound professional judgment, and commitment to integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality
- US citizenship required
- Active Secret Clearance required
- Comfortable working in remote and client-site environments as needed
- Monday–Friday availability, 8 hours per day; some evening and weekend hours may be required
- Preferred but not required: Big Four or national public accounting/consulting firm experience
- Preferred but not required: CISSP, CIA, PMP, or CISM certification
- Preferred but not required: Experience leading federal IT audits for civilian or Department of War agencies
