Technology and innovation are critical in our quest to support every human in freely sharing knowledge.\n
  • The product design team is looking for a Senior UX Designer with a solid understanding of user experience and product development processes to work within our multi-disciplinary product teams. You will primarily be working with Wikimedia’s Community Tech team that is responsible for improving and evolving various editor, admin and moderator tools, based on wishes from the community. As a secondary responsibility, you will provide design support to the Product Safety & Integrity team who are focused on building anti-abuse tools and features that ensure the security and safety of users on Wikimedia projects. This role requires a fast learner and a tactical design partner of the product team to do multiple iterations of design based on quick user research and discovery.\n

  • Creating prototypes and running experiments to iteratively test your hypotheses.\n
  • Using and evolving our design system and guidelines, to create new features from ideas on paper to implementation.\n
  • Applying accessibility standards and guidelines to your designs.\n
  • Collaborating with product managers and engineers to create product plans and maintain product design processes.\n
  • Distilling complex concepts into easy to understand talking points to engage with our readers and communities throughout the design process.\n
  • Skills and experience…. The right person is better than the right set of experiences. These are the traits we’ve identified that make great additions to our team so far.\n
  • Can communicate their design goals and processes clearly and concisely to other team members and stakeholders.\n
  • Provides constructive feedback to other designers and welcomes feedback from others.\n
  • Experienced in conducting research, as well as collaborating with UX researchers, to build a deeper understanding of audience behaviors.\n
  • Is able to generate ideas for the future as well as think tactically about how to deliver work in the present. \u00a0\u00a0\n
