About the role

  • Build and maintain **automated testing frameworks and pipelines** for Node.js backend services, fully integrated into CI/CD and release processes.
  • Lead the **transition from manual to automated testing**, writing and maintaining API, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests with high coverage and reliability.
  • Work closely with **Backend, Product teams** to define test strategies, quality standards, and ensure system testability.
  • Own backend quality by **tracking defects, maintaining test environments and data**, monitoring test results, and continuously improving testing tools and processes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in the field of **Automation Backend Engineer**
  • Strong experience with **backend test automation**, preferably for **Node.js–based services**.
  • Hands-on experience writing automated tests for **RESTful APIs** (integration, regression, and end-to-end).
  • Strong background in Manual Backend Testing (2+ years) prior to transitioning to Automation. Deep understanding of STLC, STP/STD creation, and edge-case analysis.
  • Proficiency with **JavaScript / TypeScript**.
  • Experience working with **test automation frameworks and tools** (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Chai, Playwright, Cypress, or similar).
  • Experience with frameworks such as **Playwright** or similar
  • Familiarity with **CI/CD pipelines** and integrating automated tests into build and deployment workflows.
  • Solid understanding of **backend architectures**, microservices, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with **databases** (SQL and/or NoSQL) and validating data integrity.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
  • High attention to detail with a strong sense of **ownership and quality responsibility**.
