About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in a ten-week orientation and training program covering Wells Fargo and its Technology groups
  • Complete relevant work assignments, real-world training, and group projects
  • Work as a Software Engineer intern on application design, development, testing, readiness, integration, enhancements, bug resolution, and new applications
  • Create and support reusable frameworks, data warehouses, analytics environments, data models, data pipelines, and integration scripts
  • Contribute to the technical evolution of services in partnership with enterprise architecture, product management, and partner teams
  • Work in an Agile Scrum or Kanban environment
  • Design, document, test, maintain, and recommend issue resolutions for cybersecurity solutions
  • Assist with security consulting, security projects, data access, integrity, confidentiality, and business continuity
  • Design and run tooling to discover data and application problems and report issues to engineering and product leadership
  • Build scalable data pipelines, integrate diverse data sources, clean and validate datasets, and analyze data
  • Develop data models, data warehouses, analytics environments, governance frameworks, and companywide technology standards
  • Apply statistical, machine learning, AI, and advanced analytics techniques to support decision-making and process automation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Product, Engineering, Finance, data engineering, and analytics teams
  • Document and simplify complex data workflows and support data quality, audits, certifications, and regulatory compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • Successful completion of the 2026 Technology Internship Program
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another Technology STEM-related major
  • Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
  • Knowledge or experience with Java, cloud technology, .NET, Python, SQL, or related technical skills
  • Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and API development
  • Experience with software development shipping cycles, including Development, Deploy, Release, CI, and CD
  • Experience leveraging generative or agentic AI and related concepts such as prompt engineering and data labeling
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills, including articulating challenges and recommending solutions
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a collaborative, change-driven environment
  • Initiative, curiosity, urgency, and genuine interest in learning and growth
  • Extracurricular enrichment through volunteerism, student organizations, study abroad, leadership, or nonprofit involvement
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States
  • Must not require work visa sponsorship from Wells Fargo now or in the future
  • Must attend onsite work at one of the required locations under a hybrid schedule
