About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the sales leader of the branch, acquiring, deepening, and retaining customer relationships
- Drive growth in primary checking, deposits, lending, credit cards, and investments
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing branch team
- Establish expectations and manage performance through targeted coaching
- Identify customer financial needs and deliver tailored consumer and business solutions
- Use observation, feedback, follow-up, reporting, and employee observations to improve capability and productivity
- Partner with Wealth & Investment Management, Business Banking, and Home Lending sales partners
- Educate customers about and demonstrate digital banking options
- Analyze performance, identify opportunities, and execute action plans
- Balance growth objectives with operational risk management, resolve issues, and protect customers, employees, and the company
- Complete the Branch Manager Readiness Program before transitioning into the Branch Manager position, unless currently serving as a Wells Fargo Branch Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of banking, financial services, or Branch Network experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop sales professionals and direct reports
- Ability to lead a customer-focused sales culture and drive measurable growth
- Ability to analyze performance, identify strengths and opportunities, and execute action plans
- Independent judgment and critical thinking skills to manage time, prioritize, and delegate in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Success managing and coaching across affluent, high net worth, and business customer segments
- Ability to identify complex financial needs and build strong customer, internal partner, and community relationships
- Ability to educate customers about technology and digital banking solutions
- Knowledge of banking laws and regulations, compliance controls, operational risk management, and loss prevention
- Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays
- Ability to travel in the assigned geography up to 50% of the time during the first six months and before or until placement in a specific branch, depending on location
- SAFE registration required at the time of employment
- Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and Wells Fargo policies concerning financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background
- Credit report review and additional ongoing screening may apply
- Position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
