About the role

  • Manage the editorial processing of incoming manuscripts for print and digital products
  • Select, commission and coordinate external service providers
  • Coordinate subject matter and content with authors — including solution-oriented support
  • Ensure quality, schedule and cost targets are met
  • Develop solutions in case of schedule deviations
  • Provide regular project status reports to internal committees

Requirements

  • Degree in a technical field (e.g., metal engineering, electrical engineering, automotive engineering, construction engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics) or a technical vocational qualification with further training (e.g., state-certified technician)
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Efficient, goal-oriented working style with confident use of digital tools and AI-assisted software
  • Interest in educational topics and willingness to learn new content
  • Proficient use of CMS, MS Office and AI applications for structured information processing
  • Didactic sensitivity for texts and illustrations as well as very good spelling skills
  • Team player with enjoyment of collaboration with network partners
  • Willingness to travel for one- to multi-day author meetings
  • High motivation and willingness to learn for entry into the editorial field
