About the role
- Responsible for writing and publishing news content for Wapa Television's newscasts.
- Search for, research, and decide on the newscast content for the day.
- Prepare the newscast template for the upcoming edition.
- Detail the remote and live reports that reporters will have in the field.
- Coordinate interviews.
- Decide on and prepare the regular segments.
- Write news stories, headlines, and everything presented on the teleprompter.
- Support associate producers and assistants, who help in the writing and coordination of international, health, and entertainment news.
- Any other responsibility and/or task required by supervisor for the effective operation of the channel's newscasts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a newsroom.
- Initiative to present ideas.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Basic supervisory skills.
- Excellent spelling and writing skills in both Spanish and English.
- Confidentiality management skills.
- Available to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
