About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee all gas and electrical interconnection activities for US RNG projects from early-stage development through to commercial operation.
Serve as a commercial and technical lead, managing relationships with utilities.
Collaborate with various Waga Energy teams including project development, energy management, project delivery, and operations & maintenance.
Identify gas and electrical interconnection solutions for all new RNG projects in coordination with the project development team.
Perform financial impact analysis in coordination with project developers based on interconnection costs.
Lead technical discussions and negotiations with utilities to ensure a timely, cost-effective project interconnection.
Analyze gas pipeline infrastructure to identify new opportunities for interconnecting RNG projects.
Effectively manage interconnection agreements throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

What you’ll need

A bachelor’s degree in chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering or a similar discipline.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, including experience in renewable energy and transmission planning, interconnection planning, utility interface, as well as contract review and negotiation.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
The capability to convey technical concepts to individuals from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
Strong analytical skills.
The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
