About the role
- Apply accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Prepare financial management reports
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close
- Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting and control procedures
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Continuous support of budget and forecasted activities
- Financial audit preparation and coordination
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues/expenses
- Complete Account Reconciliations
- Assist with SOX Compliance
- Analyze and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends
- Prepare monthly and quarterly exhibits and schedules, journal entries, reinsurance statistics and insurance regulatory reports
- Special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Five plus years of relevant accounting experience
- Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles
- Strong PC skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to improve work processes
- Ability to manage a special project team
- Team player with initiative
- B.S. Accounting or equivalent
