About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for managing IT services and projects related to RISC servers, delivered primarily remotely by Volkswagen do Brasil’s FIS Competence Center in Curitiba for the entire Volkswagen Group.
Will implement and provide support for RISC server environments for the FIS system, which is considered mission-critical and used for production planning and control. The system is installed in 46 factories worldwide and must meet schedule, budget and quality requirements.
This position will play a strategic role in transforming the team, leading development and upskilling initiatives focused on evolving the competencies required to also support container and cloud infrastructures.
Will take a leading role in directing technological modernization, encouraging adoption of new practices and preparing the team to operate in hybrid environments, ensuring alignment with the Volkswagen Group’s global trends and future IT demands.
This role requires the ability to lead organizational change, promote a culture of innovation, ensure alignment with global technology guidelines and contribute to the continuous modernization of the Volkswagen Group’s infrastructure portfolio.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Advanced/Fluent English required.
Availability for national and international travel.
Knowledge of Spanish and/or German is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Service Delivery Management and deep knowledge of IBM RISC servers, storage systems and backup solutions.
In-depth knowledge of related technologies (Hardware Management Console (HMC), virtualization using PowerVM, VIOS, storage virtualization, SAN switches, the AIX operating system and PowerHA high-availability software, IBM Storage Protect/TSM).
Understanding of IT concepts and architectures and of the principles and processes for implementing and delivering IT services.
Experience working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and service providers.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Strong customer orientation and focus on operational efficiency.
Highly motivated, innovative, self-directed and keen to stay up to date with current trends.
Efficient control and continuous improvement mindset.
